Big Island Wings
It is super-bowl time and that means we need lots of finger foods and great snacks to stuff ourselves with during the big game. These wings are a recipe my husband and created years ago and are sure to please everyone at your party! This recipe is very versatile and can be adjusted according to your crowd. It's also very easy and semi-homemade. Enjoy!
Big Island Wings
15-20 Chicken Drumettes or Chicken Wings
3/4 C French Dressing (Catalina dressing, doesn't matter which one)
1/2 C Franks Red Hot Sauce
1/4 C Orange Marmalade
Deep fry you chicken wings for 15-20 minutes @ 375 degrees. (Golden Brown) If you like a crispier wing you can roll your wings in flour, salt and pepper just before frying. While Chicken wings are frying mix your two sauces and marmalade together. It may help to heat to the sauce up in a covered bowl in the microwave for about a minute or so until warm. You don't want to pour cold sauce over your hot wings. Also if you like a spicier sauce add more Franks Red hot to your sauce mixture. (Depending on who is eating we adjust ours all the time) When chicken wings are done frying allow excess oil to drain off and throw them into a mixing bowl. Toss them with sauce and enjoy!
If you like a dipping sauce with your wings one of our favorites is to make a buttermilk ranch dipping sauce. You can easily to do this by grabbing a packet of "Hidden Valley Ranch-Buttermilk Recipe" packet from the store and mix according to the directions. This is a great restaurant style ranch sauce that is good for dipping almost anything in.
